Items we love to buy...and the ones we tend to pass on.

We buy a wide variety of items in all sizes spanning many decades and many styles but below is a list of some of our favorite things to see come through the door and some things we tend to pass on.

We love all cotton denim items such as jeans, overalls, shorts, shirts, or jackets from 2000 and earlier. Brands like Levis, Gap, Landlubber, Chic, Jordache, Gitano, LL Bean, Maverick, Liberty, Calvin Klein, Pointer, Big Ben, Lee, and Guess.

We pass on denim with stretch/elastic, skinny jeans, fast fashion brands, modern styles by mall brands and big box stores (think Walmart, Target, Khols, Amazon) and all styles from the late 2000s on.

We love leather jackets, especially styles from the 70s, 90s and Y2K in short to maxi lenght styles. Brands like Wilson's, Gap, Banana Republic, Jones New York, St John's Bay, Tommy Hilfiger, LL Bean, Excellence, and more tend to have great vintage options.

We tend to pass on leather jackets that have built in shoulder pads, fitted waists/very slim cut or are damaged. We also pass on modern brands and all fast fashion styles.

We love cotton, mohair and wool sweaters and sweater vests, especially printed and geometric styles. Single fabric and USA/Italian made crewneck styles are also usually a yes.

We tend to pass on acrylic & polyester sweaters, all shrunken wool sweaters, loud 1980s style sweaters, and modern/fast fashion styles.

We love dresses, especially fun and flirty summer styles, grunge style, y2k going out styles, hippie styles, Go Go/Mod styles and 30s and 40s printed styles. Cotton, silk and rayon are favorite materials. 70s brands like Gunne Sax, Young Edwardian, Jody, Landlubber, and Young Innocent/Arpeja are some of our favorites but even brands like JC Penney & Sears made great pre 80s dresses. 90s/00s styles like slip dresses, tie backs, minis, babydoll and clubwear are favorites. Brands like Delias, The Limited, Gap, Rocket Candy, Hocus Pocus, Betsey Johnson, Express, Hanky Panky, All That Jazz and more. Novelty print 30s-50s dress are great, larger size cotton 50s styles as well.

We tend to pass on over the top 80s styles (think big bows, big shoulder pads, drop waists), secretary style dress, professional wear dresses, shift dresses, very formal styles, wedding dresses, acrylic material dresses, late 2000s & fast fashion style dresses.

We love cotton/rayon/silk mens printed long and short sleeve shirts like disco styles, animal prints, geometric prints...basically anything that isn't solid, striped or plaid. We also love vintage chamois shirts and corduroy shirts. We love tee shirts and sweatshirts though condition and style are very important. We love band tees, cartoon tees, nature tees, Maine related items, silly 80s tees, and more.

We tend to pass on solid, striped and plaid men's shirts, polo shirts, dress shirts and all modern styles. We pass on modern tee shirts and sweatshirts.

We love jackets like Barn & Chore Coats, Sherpa Coats, Penny Lane Style Coats, Wool Jackets especially patterned styles, Denim Jackets, Cord and Leather Collar Jackets, Lined Jackets, dramatic 30s-50s styles and Carhartt Jackets/Vests.

We tend to pass on blazers, large shoulder pad jackets, most fur jackets, basic styles especially tan, navy blue, red and black styles, and all fast fashion styles.

We love leather for belts, bags and shoes and will buy higher end modern accessories in great condition. We buy bandanas, wallets, caps/hats, costume jewelry, vintage art and smalls in fun vintage styles (think MCM, Kitschy, Art Deco, Pyrex).

We pass on modern sneakers/athletic shoes, winter hats/scarves, socks, 1940s & 50s hats and hat boxes, linens, fabric, evening gloves, large hardgoods, and glassware like bowls, vases, and plates.
